The Special Commission to Reduce the Recidivism of Sex Offenders voted to approve the draft minutes with a correction striking the language “oversupervision of sex offenders” and replacing it with “collateral consequences of sex offense convictions/adjudications.”
Commissioners took turns describing the conclusions they have drawn from the meetings and presentations to date.
The Massachusetts Probation Service presented to the Commission. Presenters included Ed Dolan, Commissioner; Brian Mirasolo, Field Services Administrator; Andy Peck, Statewide Supervisor for the Superior Courts; Melissa Charlton, Probation Officer, Worcester Superior Court; and Phil Carofaniello, Assistant Chief Probation Officer, Dudley District Court. Dianne Fasano, Deputy Commissioner for Field Services and Nilza Sylvestre, Chief Probation Officer at Dudley District Court, were also in attendance to help field questions.
The Commission confirmed the next meeting would take place July 15, 2015 from 9-11 am to discuss the prevention of sex offenses.
